6th Annual Marsh Walk Masters

Golfers won’t want to miss the 6th Annual Marsh Walk Masters being held in Murrells Inlet on Saturday, April 11 from 3-7 p.m. This popular event brings hundreds of people to the area to play at just $20 per player with $5 mulligans!

Put on your knickers and putt your way along the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet, stopping for some fun at each of the many restaurants along the way. Play the hole at each of the nine stops on the tour and the lowest score wins. Play in any order you choose while enjoying the gorgeous marsh views, along with taking advantage of the drink and appetizer specials at each restaurant. Watch the Augusta Masters Golf Tournament on TV while you play.

Check in and day of registration is open from 2-5 p.m. at the MarshWalk Masters tent, located on the MarshWalk between Drunken Jack’s and Wahoo’s Fish House. Or register online up until Thursday, April 9.

Rules & Regulations:

    ~ Each score is for one registered participant. No team play.
    ~ Holes open at 3pm and close at 7pm.  Score Cards must be turned in by 7:30pm to MarshWalk representative at the Wicked Tuna for prize consideration.
    ~ Winners must be present to claim prizes.
    ~ In order to be eligible for prizes, each participant must putt at each of the 9 holes with Hole Monitor Verification
    ~ Monitors at each hole will keep track of your score
    ~ Bring your own putter or use one available at each hole
    ~ Unlimited Mulligans will be available for purchase at $5 each. One Mulligan entitles the player to restart the hole play
    ~ Please arrange for a designated driver if you plan to enjoy adult beverages during the event
    ~ Players under 21 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
    ~ Play continues rain or shine so be sure to bring your umbrella!

Atlantic Stage will present A Christmas Carol live at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sundays from November 27-December 21 at their 79th Avenue Theatre in Myrtle Beach. A Christmas Carol teaches the story that it’s never too late to change who you are. Follow Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future through his life this holiday season. Come on out and watch the Surfside Beach Christmas Parade that will be held on Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m. The parade will run down Ocean Boulevard.

11th Annual Christmas Towne at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center

A favorite every year is the 11th Annual Christmas Towne at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This year it will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014. There will be opportunities for free Santa photos, letters to Santa, amusement rides, games and lots more. It concludes with the official tree lighting ceremony for the City of Myrtle Beach.

The spectacular Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland light show at TicketReturn.com Field in Myrtle Beach returns this year. The Nutcracker Ballet

The Nutcracker Ballet will be performed by the Coastal Youth Ballet at the Palace Theatre. These talented young dancers will perform a classic holiday tradition live on-stage at Broadway at the Beach. Get your tickets now! The Nutcracker will be performed at 10 a.m. for a special school length production Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16. Regular shows will be performed at 7 p.m. December 15, 16, 21 and 22. A 2 p.m. show is planned for December 21. All shows will be performed at the Palace Theatre in the main auditorium.

Holidays on the Boardwalk
While you’re out shopping or looking at all the holiday lights, take a drive up to Myrtle Beach and check out Holidays on the Boardwalk. Each year the Children’s Museum of South Carolina hosts a popular event with Santa. This year, due to December 23 falling on a Sunday, the Museum is hosting Brunch with Santa & Frosty on Sunday, December 23 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A delicious lunch will be catered by the Sonic Drive-In. Families will have a meet and greet with Frosty the Snowman during Brunch, participate in fun holiday activities, and of course, take photos with Santa. Each family will receive an emailed Digital Photo Card via email before Christmas Eve to send to your family and friends! This event sells out every year, as space is limited for less than 30 families. Things to Do in Pawleys Island: Brookgreen Gardens

When it comes to finding things to do around coastal South Carolina be sure visiting Brookgreen Gardens is at the top of your list. You don’t have to be a flower lover to appreciate all the events they have going on because it’s not just a garden. They offer a large assortment of cultural programs, sculpture workshops and various exhibitions, and even have a Lowcountry Zoo. There are plenty of things to do at Brookgreen Gardens and following are just a few of them.

The Whispering Wings Butterfly Experience is a seasonal exhibit you have to see to believe. Hundreds of butterflies fly amidst lush gardens overflowing with tropical plants. There are Monarch, Zebra Longwing, Julia, Queen, Swallowtail, Buckeye, American Lady and Painted Lady butterflies that live here. The Whispering Wings butterfly house has a pupae emergence room where you can observe the breathtaking transformation a butterfly goes through from chrysalis to adult butterfly. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for children for a 30-minute timed visit in addition to regular garden admission.

You won’t want to miss An Evening Under the Palmettos on Saturday, May 3, 2014. This black tie event takes place in the stately Palmetto Garden. Featuring cocktails, Lowcountry tapas, entertainment, and a limited silent auction. Tickets are limited ($175 per person) and can be purchased by contacting The Friends of Brookgreen office, 843-235-6018. Proceeds from “An Evening Under the Palmettos” will go to help create the Waterfowl: Wings of Migration exhibit at Brookgreen Gardens’ Lowcountry Zoo.

On Sunday, May 25 the 2nd Annual Brookgreen Gardens 5k/One Mile Race will begin at 6:30 p.m. and wind through the gardens at dusk. The race is limited to 400 runners so register now! Registration for the 5K is $25 through April 30; $30 from May 1-23 and $35 the day of the race. Registration for the 1-Mile Race is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of. Registration Closing Date is Friday, May 23. Package pickup will be at the race start line area from 5 p.m.- 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, May 25. Entrance into the gardens will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Trivia Night at the Clubhouse 3/8/14
