As the marsh grass grows and the flowers bloom, you’ll see the lowcountry come alive during a spring vacation. Visiting during this time of year is ideal for bringing the whole family while on break from school or for bird watching at Hunting Beach State Parks, Brookgreen Gardens, and many other nature trails you can find along the Waccamaw Neck. One of the most popular events during this time of year is the Prince George Plantation Tours, which tickets go on sale for February 10th through March 13th. Also, beginning on April 8th, you can experience another ticketed spring event with the much anticipated Bruce Munro: Southern Light at Brookgreen Gardens on select nights through September 12th.

Summer is the season where everyone wants to be at the beach! Cool ocean breezes and warm sands create a dreamy combination for days spent soaking in the sun or paddling in the waves. If you are a country music fan, you don’t want to miss the chance to see your favorite artists perform along the coast at the annual Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach over June 4th through the 7th. Then, mark your calendar for the 4th of July to celebrate this patriotic holiday here with parades, fireworks, and festivities that are great fun for all ages!

Surfside Beach Christmas Parade

Come on out and watch the Surfside Beach Christmas Parade that will be held on Saturday, December 10 beginning at 2 p.m. The parade will run down Ocean Boulevard.

Atlantic Stage will present ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas live at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sundays through December 18 at their 79th Avenue Theatre in Myrtle Beach. Tickets are on sale through the Atlantic Stage website for $17.50-$27.50. Family discounts are available.

A favorite every year is the Annual Christmas Towne at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This year it will be held on Sunday, December 11 from 2-6:30 p.m. There will be opportunities for free Santa photos, letters to Santa, amusement rides, games and lots more. It concludes with the official tree lighting ceremony for the City of Myrtle Beach. Location: 2101 North Oak Street, Myrtle Beach.

Holidays on the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach will be held from 12-6 p.m. every Saturday through January 1, 2017. Each week will feature a holiday light show, camel rides, live entertainment and visits with Santa, the Grinch, Santa’s elves and princesses! The Festival of Lights is a must-see. Ripley’s Ruckus Drum Line, Charity Elise, Carolina Vocals and the Boardwalk Elvis are just a few of the performers you can expect to see throughout the holiday season on the Boardwalk.

Each year the Children’s Museum of South Carolina hosts a popular event with Santa. This year the Museum is hosting Candy Christmas Santa Brunch on Friday, December 23 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. This event sells out every year, as space is limited for less than 30 families. Seatings at 8 a.m, 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Price is $12/person and includes museum admission, 1/2 price for members, Advance registration required by calling (843) 946-9469.
