From January to December, there’s always a reason to visit the South Carolina coast. The year has just begun and we’ve already found an amazing selection of Grand Strand events happening in 2020. Let us help you plan your trip and make the most of your time visiting here through special experiences in your favorite interests: art, history, culture, music, sports, food and more!
Winter time along the coast offers a quieter season perfect for a couple’s romantic stay over Valentine’s Day, a girlfriends’ getaway to wine, dine & shop, or an athletic adventure to achieve a New Year’s Resolution.
As the marsh grass grows and the flowers bloom, you’ll see the lowcountry come alive during a spring vacation. Visiting during this time of year is ideal for bringing the whole family while on break from school or for bird watching at Hunting Beach State Parks, Brookgreen Gardens, and many other nature trails you can find along the Waccamaw Neck. One of the most popular events during this time of year is the Prince George Plantation Tours, which tickets go on sale for February 10th through March 13th. Also, beginning on April 8th, you can experience another ticketed spring event with the much anticipated Bruce Munro: Southern Light at Brookgreen Gardens on select nights through September 12th.
Summer is the season where everyone wants to be at the beach! Cool ocean breezes and warm sands create a dreamy combination for days spent soaking in the sun or paddling in the waves. If you are a country music fan, you don’t want to miss the chance to see your favorite artists perform along the coast at the annual Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach over June 4th through the 7th. Then, mark your calendar for the 4th of July to celebrate this patriotic holiday here with parades, fireworks, and festivities that are great fun for all ages!
If you want to live like a local, try visiting here in the autumn. You’ll easily feel the rhythm of the laidback, coastal lifestyle that residents here enjoy year round. Throughout the fall, you will find many seasonal festivals and annual celebrations that highlight the unique, vibrant characteristics of our local history, heritage & culture such as the Georgetown Wooden Boat Show on October 17-18, 2020. Another must-do tradition along the Grand Strand is Brookgreen Garden’s Nights of a Thousand Candles, a spectacular light display that welcomes the holiday season in beauty & radiance.
