If you’re staying with us at DeBordieu Rentals over the Fourth of July holiday there are plenty of local events being held to celebrate the holiday. While you might not want to venture out from the luxurious rental we supply you with there is much going on in the area that you’ll want to be a part of. Most of these events are free to attend. Also, be sure to ask us what we have taking place on-site and at the Blue Heron over the holiday.

Following are some of this year’s Fourth of July events you should check out:

Garden City Golf Cart ParadeThe patriotic Garden City Golf Cart Parade will take place on July 4 beginning at 2 p.m. The parade starts at Calhoun Drive and proceeds to Woodland Avenue. The lineup starts at 1:00 p.m. behind Willard’s Fireworks. For more info call (843) 340-5835.

 
Salute From The Shore VIISalute From the Shore VII will take place at various locations throughout the Myrtle Beach coastal area beginning at 1 p.m. on July 4, 2016. The focal point of the Salute from the Shore has traditionally been highlighted with a flyover of military aircraft and has evolved to include patriotic volunteer pilots of privately owned vintage military aircraft with veterans and active duty military aboard. This annual tribute will continue with a flyover of vintage military aircraft and F-16s from the SC Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. Viewers are strongly urged to organize patriotic displays in groups, big and small, and to share their tributes online for our armed forces around the world to see. The Flyover will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Cherry Grove and conclude over the May River Sandbar in Bluffton, SC around 1:30 p.m. The vintage military aircraft will be visible over South Carolina’s beaches shortly after the F-16s.

 
Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat ParadeMurrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade takes place annually and begins at Garden City Point in Murrells Inlet on July 2 starting at 5 p.m. This year marks the 33rd boat parade that has been held. Call 652-4236 for more information.

 
Independence Day Cookout at LaBelle Amie Vineyard On July 2 an Independence Saturday Cookout will be held at LaBelle Amie Vineyard at the corner of Hwy 90 and St. Joseph Road, Little River. Admittance fee is $3. Phone 843-399-WINE (9463).

 
Sunday ConcertsSunday Celebration Concerts are held every Sunday from 7-10 p.m. from June 26 until July 31, 2016 in Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach. Each concert is anticipated to draw 1,000 attendees come and enjoy the free concerts provided by Ground Zero.

 
Local Events for the Fourth of July20th Annual Fourth of July Concert Featuring the Indigo Choral Society will take place from 4-7 p.m. on July 4 on the lawn at the Kaminski House Museum, 8 Old Barge, Pawleys Island, SC. Highlights of the concert will include a Color Guard and songs from the American genre, Carolina-themed songs and a salute to our Armed Forces. Bring your lawn chairs, favorite snacks and drinks.

 
Local Events for the Fourth of JulyThe 5th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest will take place on July 4 at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach, 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach. Competition participants are invited to “have their cake and eat it too” during this cupcake eating marathon for those 18 years and older. The winner will be crowned, “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach. The competition will begin at 3 p.m. The event will team up with Reggie Sanders (former MLB player) and the Reggie Sanders Foundation to raise money and build awareness about autism.
