Have fun challenging your friends and neighbors at Trivia Night on Saturday,March 8th at the Clubhouse. Teams can range anywhere from 2-10 people. Cocktails begin at 5:30PM and following will be the dinner buffet at 6:15PM with trivia play beginning at 7PM. Come out and test your knowledge! A prize will be given to the team that comes in first place.

The DeBordieu Club has recently adopted a plan for a major golf course renovation in 2014. The COURSE WILL BE CLOSED from approximately May 26, 2014 through September 15, 2014.

Make plans now to join us at DeBordieu to toast the New Year at the DeBordieu Club. The annual celebration begins on Tuesday, December 31, 6:30 PM – 12:30 AM at the Clubhouse. Musical entertainment will be provided by Deas-Guyz. The DeBordieu chef has selected a menu that is sure to please. A variety of hors d’oeuvres will be passed around upon arrival. Each plated dinner will include a Shrimp, Lobster and Crab Cake, Salad of Petite Lettuces and Fresh Herbs, a Duo of Prime Beef Tenderloin and Black Angus Short Rib. A Grand Tower of delectable Desserts will be served upstairs after dinner. Cost is $90.00 per person and a Signature Bar. The Georgetown Wooden Boat Show offers fun for the whole family. This year’s show will be held October 19, 2013 from 11AM – 6PM and admission is free. The show features one of the nation’s best wooden boat exhibits with more than 100 classic wooden boats displayed on land and water, a wooden boat building competition, children’s model boat building, boat raffles, knot tying, maritime arts and crafts, food and music. A special attraction will be the Wooden Boat Challenge in which teams of two, race to build a rowing skiff within a 4 hour time limit and then test their boats for seaworthiness in a rowing relay on the Sampit River. The events of the Wooden Boat Show will take place on the waterfront and along Front Street in historic downtown Georgetown. The South Carolina Maritime Museum is offering a new summer sailing camp that will provide students, ages 9-15, with a great introduction to sailing. The 2013 beginner class is for students who have little or no experience on the water. The sessions will take place in the mornings and afternoons with 6 campers per session.
The course includes the basics of rigging a boat, sailing fundamentals, basic boat handling, seamanship (knots, weather, etc.), water safety and sportsmanship. Instructors will use games to incorporate team work and challenges to build confidence and excitement about the sport of sailing. Spaces are limited so you need to reserve your spot today. There is always something fun going on at DeBordieu and the Memorial Day party is no exception. The fun kicks off on Sunday, May 26 on the Blue Heron Deck from 6-9 PM. There is great food being planned to include a Fry Station – Shrimp and Calamari, Slider Station featuring pork, beef and chicken sliders with French Fries, Pizzas, Chicken Fingers, Chicken Pilau, Assorted Spring Salads, Taco Bar and many other yummy things to eat.
