Fishing is popular from the shore or the bridges, or in a boat on the marsh.  Murrel’s Inlet, a fishing community with a myriad of seafood restaurants, is a few minutes up the road.  Huntington State Park with its beaches and hiking trails is within a 10-minute drive.
