Our homes and villas rent on a weekly basis in the summer and for a minimum of two nights during the off-season. During the summer, we rent from Friday to Friday for most houses and Saturday to Saturday for most villas, unless otherwise noted.

Check-in is after 3:00 p.m. Please arrange your travel plans accordingly. We cannot issue passes to enter DeBordieu until 3:00 p.m. We advise postponing the purchase of perishable groceries as you will have no access to refrigeration until 3:00 p.m.

Check-out is before 10:00 a.m.

50% of the cost is due upon reservation, the balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. The total cost is due for reservations made within 30 days of arrival date. We accept bank checks, Travelers Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express. Personal checks are accepted 30 days before arrival. Deposits/payments are placed in an interest bearing account, with interest accruing to DeBordieu Colony Real Estate, Inc.

Rental rates do not include 10% state and local taxes or optional Travel Insurance.

For your convenience, a “starter supply” of soap, bath tissue, and dishwasher detergent is provided. Some things you will need to bring are staple kitchen items: salt, pepper, etc., wraps, paper products, soap, laundry and dish detergent, and beach towels.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROGRAM is included in all reservations. With ADP you will not be required to pay for accidental damage to the home or personal property of the homeowner contained within the premises up to an aggregate limit of $500. Damages exceeding this limit will be the responsibility of the guest. In order to receive coverage under the ADP, all damages must be reported to the rental office immediately.

Cleaning is provided. Failure to adhere to the following will result in additional charges (guests' credit cards are held on file for this purpose): homes left in a neat and orderly fashion, furniture arranged as it was found; trash bagged and placed in outside receptacle; kitchen cleared of trash & food, refrigerator emptied; carpet & floors free of food, debris, sand; dishes clean and left in the dishwasher.

All reservations include sheets, towels, hand towels, washcloths, dishtowels and bath mats. Your beds will be made and towels set out in the bathrooms. Crib sheets and beach towels are not supplied.

Travel Insurance protects your vacation investment. When you purchase the Travel Insurance, you'll be covered for trip cancellation, delay, and interruption. Mandatory Evacuations - Late summer and fall is hurricane season. In the event government officials or the DeBordieu General Manager orders a mandatory evacuation of the area, due to natural disasters including but not limited to, hurricanes, floods, or tornadoes, guests must vacate the premises immediately. Unless Travel Insurance has been purchased, there will be no reimbursement for a mandatory evacuation.

Our homes have been decorated and equipped to satisfy the particular tastes and desires of the owners. All homes and villas have central A/C & heat, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV w/cable, telephone & fully equipped kitchens. Furnishings are not to be rearranged and are subject to change without notice. Locked closets are the storage of the owner's private property and are not to be entered or disturbed.

Many of our homes have elevators. Elevators should only be used on check-in and check-out days for unloading and loading or when physically necessary. Unsupervised children must not be allowed in an elevator. A release must be signed before elevator keys will be issued. Please note: Although many properties with elevators can work well for those in wheelchairs, none of our properties are ADA compliant.

Grilling is permitted only in open grassy or paved areas away from any building or as provided for under any specific villa or home regulations. For your safety, grilling is not permitted on decks, porches, balconies, pool areas, or on the beach.

Local calls are free of charge; long distance calls should be charged to a credit card or be made collect. Guests shall be responsible for any long distance charges made to the property along with a $25 fee.

Like any home, our homes can experience unanticipated breakdowns. All efforts will be made to insure that all equipment and appliances are in working order and that any problems are resolved as quickly as possible. Anything out of service should be reported to the rental office immediately. Although repairs will be made as quickly as possible, no refunds or transfers to another unit will be made.

Occupancy is strictly limited to the number stated in the unit description. The only exception is an infant sleeping in a crib. Extra roll-away beds or sleeping bags are not allowed.

Construction can be bothersome. We cannot predict when or where construction will be occurring, nor does DeBordieu Colony Real Estate, Inc. have authority to halt or interfere with construction activity. We will attempt to contact the contractor concerning noise, but cannot guarantee the contractor's cooperation. No transfers or refunds will be made.

If a home or villa is listed for sale, the sales department may need to schedule a showing. Our sales staff will give at least 24 hours notice prior to the showing.

From time to time, a home may be made unavailable due to damage or change of ownership. In this event, DeBordieu will attempt to locate comparable substitute accommodations. If no suitable substitute can be located, all deposits and payments shall be refunded.

Fireworks are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony... Discharge of firearms of any kind is prohibited... Public walkways are clearly marked. Do not walk through private property.

House Parties are strictly prohibited. Any group consisting predominately of unrelated people under the age of 25, whether chaperoned or not, is considered a houseparty. Should a houseparty occupy a rental home, the rental will terminate immediately without a refund. The person making the reservation shall be held liable for any damage to the property, its' contents or surroundings.

GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING PETS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. (This is the policy of the DeBordieu Colony Community Association.)

Business Services

Our guests may send and receive faxes, have photocopies made and access our wireless internet free of charge. When receiving faxes, make sure the sender notes your name and property name or number on the transmittal sheet.

Items Left

At your request, we will attempt to locate an item left behind and mail it to you. $15 plus the cost of postage will be charged. Items left in homes and not claimed after 30 days are donated to a local charity.

Vehicles

Motorcycles, moped motorized bikes, go carts and similar motorized vehicles are prohibited within DeBordieu Colony. Campers, trailers, or any other live-in moving vehicle are also prohibited. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the beach.

Boats

Guests towing a boat are required to obtain a temporary boat decal and to pay the appropriate fee. No wake speed zones are strictly enforced in the creeks. A full description of boat rules and regulations is available through the rental office. Jet skis are not permitted.

Golf Carts

Guests may bring golf carts, but must provide registration and proof of insurance. Operators must have a valid drivers license and obey all S.C. traffic laws and regulations. Operation is limited to daylight hours.

2011 Reservations

You may tentatively reserve the same home for next year by leaving a $250 deposit during your current stay. You must reserve prior to 2010 check-out to keep your priority status. Reservations are subject to owner approval and rate changes. Rates quoted on this site are valid for 2010 only and are subject to change without notice.

DEBORDIEU CLUB

The DeBordieu Club is a private club established to provide golf, tennis and social activities for its members. Club facilities include a championship Pete and P.B. Dye golf course, golf clubhouse, a superior tennis complex with eight Har-Tru clay courts, and an oceanfront Beach Club.

Dining & Pools

The Beach Club, Cocktail Lounge, Blue Heron Beach Grill, Gazebo Bar and Turn Room offer seasonal dining with the Clubhouse Grill Room remaining open year-round. Reservations are required at the Beach Club. The two swimming pools are open daily during warm weather months. A parent or adult guardian must accompany children under the age of 10 at all times.

Golf/Tennis Fees

The Golf Glub offers a pro shop and private lessons. Green Fees: $125 per 18 holes; $70 per 9 holes; includes a cart and practice balls. The Tennis Club offers a full service pro shop with 48 hour stringing service, clinics, programs and lessons for all levels and abilities. Court fees: $20 per hour/singles, $30 per hour/doubles.

Club Memberships

DeBordieu Rentals' guests have the unique opportunity of temporarily assuming the club membership held by the owner of the home they are renting with the payment of applicable fees. Use of Club facilities is based on the level of membership held by the owner of the rental property. There are four levels of membership.

Social & Tennis

Social Memberships include the use of the pools at the Beach Club and Youth Center, and dining at the Beach Club and Golf Clubhouse. Tennis Memberships include all the Social privileges as well as use of the Tennis Club upon payment of applicable fees.

Golf & Sports

Golf & Sports Memberships offer all the privileges of Social and Tennis Memberships in addition to the use of the golf course upon payment of applicable fees and in accordance with Club rules and regulations.

Club Dress Code

Dress Codes apply to many of the DeBordieu Club facilities. Beach Club: Smart, casual. No jeans, shorts or T-shirts. Golf Club: Men - Shirts with collars/sleeves, slacks/shorts (16" length). Women - dresses, skirts, slacks, mid-length shorts, shirts with collars and blouses. Shirts without collars must have sleeves. Tennis: Cut-offs, bathing suit tops, tank tops, and running shoes are not permitted.

Our Environment

Our Environment is our most precious asset. Please help us preserve it. Sand dunes are our primary defense from erosion. Sea oats, other grasses and vegetation that grow on the dunes are very fragile. Please stay off the dunes when walking and playing. Use only the walkways that are marked.

Sea Turtles

Each year, May - October, the endangered Loggerhead sea turtles returns to DeBordieu's beaches to nest. The Loggerheads hatch at night and make their way from the dunes to the ocean. Any artificial light may disorient the hatchlings, causing them to go astray. The use of deck, porch or other outdoor lights that shine on the beach are prohibited between May - October. This policy is strictly enforced!
